Research

ARK/Accessible Research and Knowledge is an adaptive and interdisciplinary studio focusing on architecture, the built environment, and planning disciplines. ARK creates aligned and relevant guides for multiple target groups to implement circularity and regenerative transitions locally and globally.

The foundation of ARK Studio is a learning mindset and natural growth for all partners involved. ARK draws from multiple perspectives including applied positive psychology; social psychology; and learning psychology to create flourishing and respectful conditions for all. The focus is on advancing sustainable practices and policies through a funded by Research England: International Science Partnership Fund (ISPF) Institutional Support Grant (ODA) Jan - May 2024 led by Principal Investigator Dr. Amal Abuzeinab from De Montfort University (UK). The project aims to promote sustainable development through international collaboration, leveraging innovative research and practical applications to address global challenges. By fostering knowledge exchange and capacity building, ARK strives to create lasting impact and contribute to the advancement of sustainable practices worldwide.

The project will include 4 streams: Stream 1 - Business models in transition, Stream 2 - Implementing SDGs in Higher Education Institutes and Beyond, Stream 3 - How do women flourish at work?, Stream 4 - Placeness, urban realities, and expressions of place.

Through workshops and partnerships with multiple stakeholders from the UK and internationally. The project seeks to drive transformative change in sustainable business practices and higher education sustainability initiatives, empowering institutions to catalyse sustainability transitions based on research-driven policies and practices.
